Looking for Love

 I was looking for love in all the wrong places; looking for love in too many faces until the blessed Holy Spirit led me to grace and truth Who goes before the face of God (Psalm 89:14, NKJV).

Jesus came knocking on my heart's door. He is everything I've been looking for. You Lord, oh You! You come looking for sinners to love.

Now that I found a Friend and a Lover, I bless the day I met Jesus. No more looking for love in all the wrong places; looking for love in too many

faeces, I mean faces!

It is written in Mark 12:30-31 (NKJV),

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

If God expected us to love Him as such for our sins to be forgiven, why would He send His beloved Son to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8, NKJV)?

Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the DEFINITIVE display and proof of God’s love for us. This is so that we can look to the Cross and be conscious of God’s love for us.

Hence 1 John 4:19 (NKJV),

“We love Him because He first loved us.”

This is typified by the bronze serpent. Whoever bitten by the serpent (sin) would look to the bronze serpent, they lived (Numbers 21:9, NKJV).

The bronze serpent alluded to Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Jesus did no sin (1 Peter 2:22, NKJV). In Him was no sin (1 John 3:5, NKJV). Yet God made Jesus Who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21, NKJV).

To read the Bible by the letter kills. But to read God’s love letters to us by the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6, NKJV).

Feel free to disagree but be decent enough to not swing the religious sledgehammer.

It is one thing to offer alternative perspective (s) based on spiritual logic but quite another to just bulldoze with pious sounding but empty remarks without any substantive Biblical basis like,

“Do not reinterpret the Bible to hide an inconvenient truth. The Bible does not lie! Say it as it is!"

This is nothing more than the distasteful hallmark of a religious thug.
